    Key Players

Why are they the Key Players
First off lets start with Stevie Franchise in 2003-04, joined Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson and Grant Hill as the only players in NBA history to average 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in each of their first five seasons . Now in the 2004-05 season he has continued the streak or looks tobe continuing it by averaging 20.4, 6.80, and 6.4.

Francis will be going against a player who is without question been in a slump this season after playing in the Olympics over the summer, and having a great year last season he is only averaging 8.8 points this season with how ever 6.2 assists 1.2 assists higher then what he averaged last season. Arroyo although in a slump can bust out at any moment which makes him a constant threat to our team.

With weapons like Carolos Boozer 19.4 points this season, Arroyo has a lot of guys to get involved in the offense. I think he, and Boozer should be our main focuses this game.

Dont Look for to much Magic from...

    IR 55 Andrew DeClercq
    IR 7 Michael Bradely
    IR 8 Pat Garrity

    Magic Keys...
    * Have a good game out of Howard Howard broke out of his slump against the Nuggets notching 23 points and 10 rebounds getting his first double double after combining for only 9 rebounds the two games before that. He will look to continue it against the Jazz and Carlos Boozer, and the Magic need him to produc to be successful.

    * Have a good game form Hill and Francis this is a repeating thing. When Francis and Hill perform they have won when they dont they have lost. Its a simple thing, but it has held true all year.

    * Limit turnovers. Turnovers continue to be the Magics down fall this year they ahd a ton in Denver which was a blow out lose, and if the game is tight turnovers will kill the team again.

    Leo's Prediction

Francis comes out with intensity and gets teammates involved every. Francis finishs with a triple double. Hill over 20 points. Magic by 8. I do not Hedo will have a good game hope I am wrong though. I think that the main reason we will win this game is due to the fact AK is out if he was in there lineup I would not be as optamistic about this game.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Game Preview: Orlando @ Utah

The Jazz started out the season as one of the NBA?s hottest teams, but since a loss to Orlando November 17, only their second defeat of the season, the Jazz have only won two games. Utah is currently on a five-game skid and will seek revenge Wednesday for its early-season loss to the Magic. One factor that may have led to Utah?s slight decline is the absence of Andre Kirilenko, Utah?s second-leading scorer, who has missed five games now due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Kirilenko?s 14.8 points per game and 7.2 rebounds have been aided in part by Matt Harpring, who has moved into a starting role and is averaging 17.0 points and more than six rebounds in the last four contests.

Orlando will try its best to rebound from a disappointing start to their six-game road trip with their second meeting of the season with the Utah Jazz. Orlando would like to see more of the same out of this game as they did back on Nov. 17, when Grant Hill and Steve Francis combined for 55 points to lead the Magic to their fourth consecutive home victory. And chances are they will need that kind of production to get the ?W,? as center Kelvin Cato will not be with the team for the rest of the west-coast road swing. As demonstrated Monday night when Orlando was without Tony Battie, the Magic rely heavily on their interior defense and when their big men are already shorthanded and get into foul trouble, it can get messy.

Last Meeting: Steve Francis and Grant Hill scored 33 and 32 points, respectively, as the Magic downed Utah 107-92 at home on November 17. The duo shot an amazing 24-of-34 from the field to lead Orlando to its first 4-0 record at home since 1998-99, when the club won 10 in a row to start the season before losing a game in Orlando. Utah, which had an early 20-8 lead in the contest, was led by Carlos Boozer?s 27 points and eight boards.

All-Time Series: Orlando is 12-20 vs. the Jazz (8-9 at home, 4-11 at Utah) during regular season action. The Magic have won four of the last six regular season meetings against Utah, including a 107-92 win over the Jazz earlier this season.

Total player games missed to injury/illness: 63
Michael Bradley ? Injured List, strained right hamstring?Placed on Nov. 12

Andrew DeClercq ? Injured List, right knee rehabilitation?Placed on Nov. 1
Pat Garrity ? Injured List, sprained left foot?Placed on Dec. 1

Orlando center Kelvin Cato suffered a subluxated left shoulder during the third quarter last night @ Denver and did not return to the game. He will fly back to Orlando today and will miss the remainder of the Magic?s West Coast trip (five games). Cato will undergo an MRI tomorrow and his status will be re-evaluated.</div>

At first I thought we'll have big advantange since AK47 is not going to play. But now our big man Cato is out as well...the chance becomes slimmer.
But I think that if we don't get into foul troubles early in the game (especially D12 and Battie), and keep the ball and control the pace of the game, we can take this one by 5. We need to outrebound the Jazz as well.
    Let's do it Magic! [IMG]

I still think we have a very good shot at this game s much as I like Cato, and what he does for our team, and appreciate what he has been able to do on the offensive and defensive end of the cour tthe last few games. He is no where near the level that AK is. AK was a NBA All Star Cato should have been, but wasnt even on the NBA ballot. The Jazz lose a lot more with AK being out then we do with Cato out.

I don't think Jarron Collins is starting. I think they will start Mehmet Okur. That is what it says in the Jazz thread as well. Anyways, Dwight Howard should have a good game with Cato out. I expect Francis and Hill to each have 20 points like usual. I think we will come out with a win in the end if we can stop Boozer and Okur. My Prediction is Magic win 107-98.

I dont know I got the Jazz starting lineup off of the last game thread they had posted in that forum at the time, but if Okur is starting and they say that in the utah forum I will change it.

106-100 win. Howard stepped up as I said, and a great D game from Battie and Kasun combining to fill that gap.

Mobely, Francis and Hill getting it done on offense again.

Well played all, keep that 2nd half performance going all season + Cato, it will look good !

Good game Magic! Dwight Howard had another double double and Mobley played great. We still had a lot of turnovers (18) but if we get the win I'm happy [IMG].

I think Howard can honestly keep scoring 15+ a game and not effect the other scoring - cat got 25+ francis 20+ and hill a gnats hair away from 20, and with hedo off the bench i think we can get him in the scoring more.

But I am just grubbing for points so he can get ROY
