Lakers legend and part-owner Earvin "Magic" Johnson has sold his share of the team to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, according to the team.

The transaction price of Johnson's share of the team is undisclosed.

"The sale of Earvin's share of the team is a business decision which will not change our relationship," owner Jerry Buss said in a statement.

"Our friendship goes well beyond business. Patrick is a long-time and passionate Lakers fan and we are delighted to have him as a partner."

He's still a VP with the team so he's not completely out of the picture. A lot of people in LA are hoping he buys the Dodgers. He might not know much about the ins and outs of being a baseball owner, but Magic has been successful in business by surrounding himself with smart people who can get the job done. Good luck to Magic what ever he ends up doing with his share of the money.
