The Magic lost to the Knicks in the Vegas Summer League today 90-87. Dwight Howard dropped 13 points and grabbed only 5 rebounds and Jameer Nelson scored 10 points and had only 1 assist. The big story of the day was Jerome Beasley, a second year forward, scoring 21 points and collecting 5 rebounds in 22 minutes. Hopefully we can bounce back tommorow against the Bulls.

Dwight actually dropped 13. Our defense was horrible Nate got down the lane every single time it looked much like the real Magic team at the end of the season. Howard did not show me any new moves to his game most of his points came off hook shots he needs to develop some other moves and get other shots.

I'm just wondering why jameer and dwight couldn't make quick work of scrubs, i mean neither played particularly long but i'd expect a few more assists from jameer, and i'm surprised beasley outdid both of them. The knicks have some great prospects but i thought we actually had some proven players

Maybe it was just an off day for both of them???

It's weird not seeing Dwight adding any new arsenals to his game. Maybe he felt he really didn't need to showcase his talent to the "scrubs".... who really knows what's going on.

it was the first game Im not to surprised. Dwight doesnt have much to prove as say Beasley does. Dwight and Jameer arent playing for contracts like the other guys. As far as new moves, im sure dwight will bring them out later, if not in summer league when training camp starts.

Summer League is for those who need to make the squad like Beasley so no need for Dwight to really play he shouldnt play anymore games this should be a warm-up. Nelson got injured so Dwight might pull out so he doesnt get injured also.

Jameer went down with a sprained ankle so that lowered his stats. I'm not sure what the extent of the injury was but I just know he went down.

I saw the game and is it just me, or is Jameer Nelson the same height as Nate Robinson? It looked that way. Anyway, Orlando was fouling way too much. The Magic shot 55% and the Knicks shot 39%, however, they made 25 more freethrows and that proved to be the difference maker. Luckily, everyone on the Knicks are such good freethrow shooters [IMG]

Jameer Nelson is listed as 6'0 on NBA.com but I think he is closer to 5'10" or 5'11". Nate Robinson is listed as 5'9" so they aren't that far apart.

Don't forget that Lebron had just a decent summer league 2 years ago(remember Britton Johnsen slammed it in his face???) [IMG], and Dwight struggled early last year, so it's only the first game, they will get their acts together towards the end.
