WHERE: American Airlines Center in Dallas.

    RECORDS: Magic 0-0; Mavericks 1-0.

BROADCAST: TV -- Sunshine Network; Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO) in Orlando; Spanish-language coverage on 1440 AM (WPRD).

MAGIC UPDATE: Coach Doc Rivers says the preseason games against Dallas and New Orleans give him a chance to look at different lineups. The Magic will use their "small" lineup against the Mavs, with Gordan Giricek starting at small forward. Against the bigger Hornets, Rivers will start 7-foot Steven Hunter at center and sit Giricek. . . . Veteran forward Pat Garrity (knee) and rookie center Zaza Pachulia (ankle) will not play.

MAVS UPDATE: Dallas won its exhibition opener, beating the Utah Jazz 90-85 in Mexico City on Sunday night. . . . Dallas reached the Western Conference Finals last season, losing to the eventual NBA champion San Antonio Spurs 4 games to 2. . . . As if they didn't have enough offensive firepower, the Mavericks acquired forward Antawn Jamison from the Golden State Warriors in a trade.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: It's always an entertaining matchup when Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Finley duel McGrady.
