He is gona bring what we have basically been talking about him bringing to the team the past week. He will bring another good defender to the team who can shut down players or at least contain them. I dont see him getting many minutes though if Hill returns healthy and we resign stevenson. He is a vetern that will also bring some leadership to the locker room and players sort of what linsey hunter was last year to the pistons and billups. I think he will be a good mentor to the young guys on the team and teach them how to play good defense. Added with the under rated defenders tthat mobely and francis are, then howard who is a good rebounder and shot blocker or at least has shown that in the summer leagues, and also battie and cato and you have a great defensive team. He may even be offered a position with the team as possible a assistant coach when he retires to help develope the young talent we have.
He'll bring defense and leadership by example and verbally. He's very versatile and can guard the 2, 3 and 4. I think he'll be a good asset to the team, and would be very good in different situations. What puzzles me is, why the Magic? At this point of his career I would think that he would want to go to a team that can win a ship and go deep in the playoffs. I would of liked to see him in Minnesota or Sactown.
Good veteran addition to the team, hopefully can be a positive influence on the younger guys like Jameer and Dwight. He's good at defense which isnt as available as it once used to be so its a good signing he can bring good stuff to this team.
I think that with this signing, you have to go in with low expectations. This guy is not going to get many minutes with the team that we have now and he really will be a presence for this team on one side of the floor. The point I'm trying to make is that we are signing this guy for his presence in the locker room more than anything as this is a very young team. There is nothing better than a couple veterans to help steer some of the young guys in the right direction. I look forward to seeing this guy in a Magic uniform and heck, it looks like we just made our bench that much deeper.
I don't really understand this. Even if Hill goes down we have about 5 or 6 players that can play the SF position. Oh well hopefully he will get the younger players to play better defensively.
I think this is a great signing by Orlando. The Plastic Man still has enough in the tank to lock down a premier player here and there and he is a definite postive influence for Howard and the rest of the young cats to be around. He'll provide some of the things they were lacking last season with the departure of DA. I know different team, but Augmon brings the things necessary to keep your squad together and cohesive.
