Magic Sign Donnell Harvey... http://www.floridatoday.com/!NEWSROOM/sportstoryA12747A.htm <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a move that should strengthen their defense and athleticism, the Orlando Magic will sign Donnell Harvey today to a one-year contract. Harvey, a 6-foot-8, 220-pounder from the University of Florida, can play both forward slots and is an especially strong defender. He has spent the past two weeks in Orlando, working out for Magic officials. Harvey, a three-year pro, averaged 7.9 points and 5.3 rebounds a game last season for the Denver Nuggets. </div> Says should be offical today...Good pick-up by Orlando...
he will be a good player on the magic if he plays, very good pick up. hopefully we can get him in to play though, because i don't see how he will play that much behind gooden, howard, giricek, declerq, hunter, etc.
Nice addition for the Magic. He will give them a lot of hustle plays and is decent scorer. An upgrade over Pat Burke non the less
Would he though? He would be behind Lenard,Barry,Melo,White,Boykins,Miller in thr guard play...or is he a PF? always thought of him as a SF....
I never said he was a shooting guard...I said there would be not that many minutes for him with the current guard/SF Denver have in there...
he would be a good backup to howard/gooden if they get into foul trouble, he will see a lot of playing time. hopefully he decides on the magic.
I think it is official, he wanted to win thats why he went to Orlando. Denver will be a fun team to watch with Nene, Miller and MELO MAN. But in the Thick west they are still puppies.
yeah its official now but if he wants to win why not go to a contender like the nets, pistons, lakers, spurs, etc...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NugzFan:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah its official now but if he wants to win why not go to a contender like the nets, pistons, lakers, spurs, etc...</div>None of those teams have the room to sign him and keep him happy with adequate minutes.
Wave is exactly right, when I said he wants to win it doesnt neccesarily mean , win a chamionship, I just meant a plus 500 team. Players want to win and play at the same time. I think the Magic have a good chance of getting to the finals. The only two other teams that are clearly better then Orlando is Detroit and NJ. Heck the Wizards can get to the finals.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YaoMing03-04:</div><div class="quote_post">Heck the Wizards can get to the finals.</div> *hits the breaks* "screeeeccchh" Not a chance in hell, if they make it, they are the 8 seed, and would not beat a NJ or a Detroit IMO. Too much for them unless a trade takes place. *does a burnout*
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wave:</div><div class="quote_post">None of those teams have the room to sign him and keep him happy with adequate minutes.</div> the magic signed him to a ONE YEAR deal probably not much more than the min. they have gooden and howard at forward (harvey wont start). the lakers could pay him just as much and give him more pt. spurs have cap space to sign him to more. and both those teams will win far more than the magic will.

If Kings wanted him he could of gone there..As they have the whole MLE available..but they wanted to save money....
i think the magic have a good chance to make the conference finals at least. harvey should get a good 20 min a game, when either gooden or howard gets into foul trouble or when we play gooden and howard at pf/c. he is a great addition to the magic. we need his defense.
