The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard Rick Apodaca (opp-oh-DOC-ah), General Manager John Gabriel announced. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed. Apodaca (6’3”, 190, 1/7/80) appeared in 108 games with Hofstra University. He averaged 13.2 ppg., 3.3 rpg., 2.8 apg. and 1.16 stlpg. during his collegiate career. He led Hofstra in scoring during both his junior (2001-02) and senior (2002-03) seasons, and was named Second Team All-Colonial Athletic Association in 2001-02. Apodaca was a member of the Puerto Rican National Team that played in the FIBA Americas Olympic Qualifying Tournament and the FIBA World Basketball Championships. He will participate in the Magic’s training camp, which begins on Tuesday, September 30 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Orlando’s roster now stands at 15 players.
