You can't seperate him and Magic.</div>Looks like we are going to separate them now. This will be a solid debate. Who had the better career, Magic or Bird.I say Bird. He was better all around, a better defender, shooter, and theif. Magic was a better playmaker. Both had solid supporting casts though, so you can't argue that. Magic had Kareem and James Worthy. Bird had McHale, Parish, Johnson...
I think its bird. To me magics biggest asset is his playmaking and bird was an excellent playmaker too. Bird did everything, most of which better than magic. I give magic a better rookie year, because it was the best ever but I like bird for career.
Both were completely brilliant. Magic was much more athletic but that's really the only thing seperating the two. Bird was a SEVERELY underrated passer and was one of the smartest players to ever exist. Both were ridiculously clutch, great at defense, rebounding, playmaking and scoring. Bird however could talk some serious sh*t. He'd make Gary Payton cry.
I like Bird slightly more, just because I like the Celtics moreso than LA.... But I love Magic as well, and both are pretty evenly matched... There's not much to say that hasn't already been said about either one of them, except Johnson had a coupla more NBA Championships than Bird did, I believe.... Plus, who's had a BETTER Rookie year than Magic? Not many people!
It's a wash reallyFor every advantage you give to Bird you can come back with one for Magic and vice versa. they're both equally amazing
