Coach Schuyler Anderson didn’t seem too bothered by the ugliness of the Rio Grande Valley Magic’s 33-19 win over the Corpus Christi Hammerheads. Sure, issues such as an offense that scored only six points during the second half and a team that committed 16 penalties could become problems down the line. But most important to Anderson was getting the franchise’s first win in its home opener, regardless of how it happened. “We had a little buzz there throughout camp and everything and then the week leading up to this game we had the buzz going,” Anderson said. “To actually get a win and have the fans see it, that’s going to make the buzz even that much greater coming into the next home game.” The next home game was supposed to be April 16 against Houston, but that could be pushed up considerably. Because of arena lease issues in Houston, the Magic’s game scheduled for Saturday in Houston against the Stallions has tentatively been moved to 7:05 Wednesday night at State Farm Arena. That move is expected to be finalized Monday morning. Read more: http://www.themonitor.com/sports/wednesday-48479-home-win.html
