World Boxing Association light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KO’s) will be fighting former WBO light welterweight champion DeMarcus Corley (37-13-1, 22 KO’s) this Saturday night at the Estadio Luna Park, Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina. This will be the 27-year-old Maidana’s first fight in five months since stopping the tough light welterweight contender Victor Cayo in the 6th round in March of this year. Maidana is using the fight against the 36-year-old Corley as a stay busy fight to sharpen his skills for one of the light welterweight champions, preferably WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s). In a news press release sent to Fightnews.com, World Boxing Association interim champion Maidana has this to say about Khan and his trainer Freddie Roach: “I think these people are hypocrites. It’s like they have one speech for the cameras and another for the promoters. Everyone knows that Khan fan scared from me last year and they only go for opponents that cannot punch or lighter fighters [lightweights]. But when they have a camera or a mic in front of them, they shout that they would face me next. I say to Roach and Khan, stop lying to the boxing fans. I have no problem going to England and knocking him out.” Read more: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/08...ays-that-khan-has-been-running-scared-of-him/
