The entire reason Hill has been guarding Miller the last two games is because Miller could post up either of the Suns' guards, and is stronger than them.

It is easy for them to move Nash and Richardson off of Miller, because our 2's and 3's can't and don't post up.

IMO, we need to try a way to force either Nash or Richardson (preferably Nash) to guard a bigger, strong player in the post.

    How?

    Try a line-up of:

    Miller
    Webster or Batum
    Dante
    LMA
    Camby

Neither Webster or Batum can or will post up. But Dante can and will. Then we have 2 out of our 3 wings that can post up. So we know we can get either Nash or Richardson (hopefully Nash) guarding Dante in the post if they are going to keep Hill on Miller.

    Thoughts?

You are on the right track. If you don't react to what they have done and make them pay for it, they will never stop. Make them pick their poison.

IMO the big problem is we aren't attacking the paint.

The reason Miller can't attack Hill so much is because he has no outside shot. So he can't do like many PG do when they get a big on them, where they just make some space outside and jack a jumper over them. Kind of like what Nash does to our guys on the switch.

I'm sure the Suns would welcome us having Dante Cunningham try and beat them. Although I do think Dante deserves a little more PT, we just don't have the talent like Phoenix does to make them pay for the switches they've been making.

I agree, if we have to go to Cunningham, in essence PHX has won. Now I know what you are saying about making Phoenix pay for changes, the thing I would point out is, outside of Hill, they don't have any good one on one defenders. There is no reason to play afraid and not attack the paint. What? Are you telling me the team is afraid of Jarron Collins? Or Amare Stoudemire and hit barely 2 blocks per game? Jason Richardson has never been a good defender. Frye played here. He was never a good defender, he still isn't. Quit playing afraid and attack the rim.

As it is right now, the Suns are welcoming Webster and Bayless having to beat them. IMO, we stand a better chance of making them pay for putting Hill on Miller if we get Dante on the block against Nash, compared to Webster trying to play one-on-one against Richardson on the wing.

I hate to state the obvious but it sure would be nice to have Roy healthy for Richardson to chase around! JR has become the X-factor with B-Roy out.
