Why am I so big on Maksim Shatskikh? Because he gets the job done and is a quiet class-act player that cares more for culture then cash. That is unheard of in modern-day football. While he is great at club level, he excels at the international level. In 38 matches (no friendlies included) for Uzbekistan he has scored 29 goals, while for Dynamo Kiev he has scored 96 goals in 209 matches. For a player of that quality, you'd believe he should be playing in England, Italy or Spain. It is a pleasure to introduce this player to all of you that still do not know him. I feel relatively unimpressed by these clips. Is Shatskikh a guy like a Diego Forlan who scores bags of goals by just putting himself in the right place, or are those videos just not showing how good he is on the ball?
He's not great at dribbling the ball. I'd say same skill as Trezeguet with the ball, but he scores a hell of a lot of goals for sure. He's better then Diego Forlán IMO. He's much taller and more intelligent.
