Peter Vecsey (vomit) reckons we are interested in both players, and the Knicks have a big interest in Reggie Evans.

I posted my thoughts on the two on a thread in the rumours forum:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Not sure what use he'd be, even though I'm a fan. He doesn't have an expiring contract so what would we get out of it?

With the state of the roster at the moment, I actually think it would be more beneficial to keep going on our current course and get a top ten pick, rather than look for a quick fix to grab a seventh or eighth seed. Give Collison starting minutes at power forward and continue to rotate Swift and Petro in the middle - it won't get us to the playoffs, but it will make us a better team in the long run.

Penny Hardaway on the other hand? That would be a tasty 15 million off the books at the end of this season.</div>

Given this forum has gone a bit quiet since we started, well, sucking, I thought I'd get people's opinions on acquiring either player.

Alternatively, anyone remember just how good Penny was? Man I loved him.

Penny was a great player back in the day before the injuries: shoot, dribble, pass, quick and could jump out of the gym.

I remember one game when he was with the Mag, maybe a playoff game agains the Bulls when Jordan came back from baseball, and he got 37 against MJ. Someone said later 'He was just better than Jordan that game'. I also recall Magic saying that 'he's going to be super' after playing against him at the Olympic trials.

I always had him catagorized as a cross between Magic and Michael - maybe without the killer instinct or mental toughness, though.

you guys probably never seen penny play in a knick uniform, hes just plain wack now, he got some minutes for a few games in the beginning this year, and he throws careless passes resulting in turnovers, he can't shoot anymore, man he should retire... those injuries reaaaaaalllly messed him up badly

It's just sad to see a career messed up because of injuries...Penny was one of my favorite players....I used to love those commercials with Chris Rock as "Lil Penny". Sprite tried to do that with Lebron but....I don't think so...
