Malone" Current Jazz Disappoint Me <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Karl Malone's success was built on outworking his opponents. He wishes he could say the same about today's Utah Jazz. Malone was blunt in his assessment of his former team Sunday, echoing and expanding upon Larry Miller's complaints about less-than-all-out effort on the part of some players. "You do have two or three guys who want to win," Malone said. "But you have a lot of guys on this team right now who are just collecting paychecks." He made it clear that he wasn't piling on power forward Carlos Boozer, who was singled out by Miller earlier this week because "some nights, he has looked like he didn't care that much." "I'm a big fan of Carlos Boozer," Malone said. "Let him be Carlos Boozer. He's not Karl Malone." Boozer is learning how much pressure comes with earning more than $10 million a season, Malone said. Still, the Mailman said, the players have to take responsibility for the team's disappointing 17-33 record. "The coaches on this team did a hell of a job preparing us when I was playing," he said. "There is no shortage of preparation. It's a shortage of preparation on the players' part. That's the most disappointing thing about this team."</div> Source Normally, I don't usually agree with Karl Malone's comments. But I have to agree, the players are not executing Sloan's game plans. The Jazz have had to deal with a lot of injuries, but Sloan and his staff are the best at making adjustments to put their team in a position to win. The game against the Lakers last night was a perfect example of mental breakdowns.
The current Jazz disappoint me too, it is hard to say "I'm a Jazz Fan" and not get laughed at when we are not doing good. Maybe these words will light a spark in the Jazz after the break.
The Jazz have been very disappointing this season. They have the talent to go places, but they just don't put in the effort to get there. There are a few exceptions, Raja Bell, Keith McLeod and Matt Harpring give 110% every night. They are a young team, but they really need to toughen up mentally and physically.
