First, it was Jan. 24. Then it was March 8. Now, figure Karl Malone's first Delta Center appearance in another uniform for sometime next season.
The Mailman intends to accompany the Lakers to Salt Lake for Monday's game, but he probably will not play, Malone told the Los Angeles Times. "I've waited three months now," he told the newspaper. "I can sure . . . wait another week."
By doing so, however, Malone will miss his chance to perform in his old home, and to get a measure of revenge for the Jazz's fake-phone-call skit from last January. "I said I would be in Utah," Malone said. "Unless I'm dead, I will be in Utah with the team."

There have been 2 games between the Lakers and Jazz this season, Malone has missed both and now it looks like he'll miss the 3rd. If the Mailman misses this one, he'll miss both of his game against Utah in Utah. Thinking from a Jazz playoff perspective, I wouldn't want Malone playing, but that idea goes out the window for this game, I really want to see how he plays, what the crowd does and how he gets up from that phone call incident.
