A season full of setbacks continue for the 2 time defending eastern Conference champions. Today the Nets issued a statement saying that Eddie Griffen will not be joining the team anytime soon. Eddie says that he just not ready to start back playing basketball again. And the Nets said that there is no timetable on him joining to the team. Which to me means he wont be joining the Nets this season or me be ever. Which means Nets Fans that we will be going into the Playoffs with Rodney Rodgers as our main forward off the bench. With the Nets being its weakest its ever been, Do the Nets need to make a trade to add another go to player or some bench depth before the trade deadline in mid feb? It seems like there are alot of players that are out there but we dont need to make any moves that will break up the core of the Nets(RJ-Kidd-K-mart). Of course there has been that trade that has been in the local news papers since the summer K-mart & someone else for Rasheed Wallace. I personally hate that move. But does any one else have someone in mind that we might can get in a smaller deal. Maybe a deal that would move someone like Harris or Rodney Rodgers or even Kittles? I think those are the 3 players that are expendable if it makes the team better.
I was about to post it as well. Here's the link: http://www.nba.com/nets/news/nets_statemen...ie_griffin.html Anyway, I'd personally get a reliable half court set type of player first. Someone who can shoot the J. Of course it would be nice if he can play both Forward positions but I'm cool with any trades as long as it doesn't involve Kidd/K-Mart and Jefferson.
