The latest news regarding a Liverpool takeover is that they are going to be taken over by very rich people. Chelsea are owned by Abrim. Aston Villa have Lerner, while West ham the Iceland boys. I have one worry. All these clubs are very strong financially some more than others. But I cant help wonder how the club who up until a few years ago had most money is now well in a couple of hundreds of millions of debt! Man U are great but Im afraid in the long run. At the moment they will still win and improve because they have fergie as coach and they have some very young very talented players. But what happens in 10yrs time?? The Glazers as we all know have 10years to repay their massive debts. But they want to make a profit so all the scrutiny to keep money in the coffers will still be going on much later! I fear this and I also fear the next coach wont be the authority like fergie but will instead bow down to the glazers.

This is just an opinion, your comment people and try to keep it real and not any stupid comment. Thanks

... Because Man Utd were on the stock exchange, any jamoke who could pull together the cash could take over then put loans in the 'company's' name.

But I agree, it seems you guys got the bum deal of the takeovers.

It's hardly harmed us. Fergie has the money there for certain levels of player if he wants them and feels they'll help the club progress.

It's in the Glazer family's interests to accomodate the manager's requests because they need to generate the income, and that comes from winning competitions.

The debt is a worry, but given United will always pack out Old Trafford and pretty-much whatever other stadium they go to, the gate receipts alone help big-time. Add in the Asian and American markets and you've got a plan.

At the end of the day, if the bank didn;t think that United would recoup the money and recoup it quickly, they would not have given the money to the Glazers. It's common business sense, especially when you're dealing with over half a billion pounds (about a billion dollars).
