2 times inside the 20, 2 TDs for edge... only 3 TDs for manning. i dont think hes as self centered as you ll think
Exactly responding to criticism, when I saw those rushing TDs thats the first thing I thought. He must have got some flack and decided to change his gameplay. Nice call Manning, the record can still be reached without having his like 5-6 TD passes a game. Good unselfish call on his part I'd say.
I'd like to see him reach 47 TD passes and then separate his shoulder. What can I say? Call ME selfish!
Manning hasn't been selfish all season but on one occasion against Houston where he was on the 1yard line and with 3 downs to go and with #2 RB behind him, he tried to pass it, and failed on 3 attempts. Other than that you can't criticize the #1 QB in all of Football, who is possibly one of the best QB's of all time-minus a superbowl ring.
I don't think Peyton is selfish. I think any bad press is jealousy. If no one can stop your passing game, then throw the football. How many teams and players are good enough to decide if they're going to score through the air or on the ground? You take a score however you can get it. This isn't Techmo Bowl.
Manning is a good QB no question my problem with him is his attitude on every failed third down converstion he drags his feet flops onto the bench and just sits there. I mean come on get up cheer your D so they get the job done and you get another shot. Its like the first time he fails to convert a third down thats it game over. What kind of leader is that he may "say" all the right things off the field but he shows something different when it matters. It takes more than T.D. passes to win a superbowl it takes the whole team and you gotta wonder whats goin threw everybody elses on the teams mind when they see that.
You know, I'm been thinking about why Manning loses to the Patriots and I think I have an answer that satisfies me (other than the obvious fact that the Patriots are an outstanding team). The Patriots take one of Mannings strengths and make it a weakness. There will be naysayers in the crowd here, but I think over the course of a year, Manning changes up the plays and audibles out of some bad situations into some good ones, based on the defense he sees. The NE coaching staff understands this and purposely changes things up and bluffs certain blitzes and coverages. It puts Manning into a playchanging mode often enough and wins. I was watching the last game and when Manning was under center, I had trouble deciding which team was really on offense. Manning was reacting to the defense more so than the other way around. Maybe that has something to do with playing against a defense that is performing at a high level. But I still have to take my hat off to the Belichek and Co for that scheming. I still think Manning is a great QB, but until he figures out that he is always the one on offense when he is on the field, it will be tough.
I think the weather and playing in Foxboro has something to do with it. Manning isn't comfortable throwing against the 3-4 either. The 4th linebacker is somewhat of an X-factor. It was obvious as well that Stokely and Dallas Clark weren't comfortable in the cold either as there were 7 registered drops in Sunday's game. There were 10 reasons why the Pats won on Sunday and Belichick & Dillon were just 2 of them.

The true X factor is to know whether the dinking and dunking would have worked if they hadn't dropped so many balls.
Yeah and I'm sure the Colts fans will be sickened by that all offseason. I know I would have been sick for months had the Steelers have lost because of a punt return and a defensive TD. After holding the Jets offense to 3 points, it's a game you should win. The bottom line is that the Colts need more defense. Freeney isn't enough alone. If they can't stop a good running game, how can they keep their defense off of the field?
