Even when Arenas comes back they don't have the roster to go far, IMO. They seem like great trading partner.
Fuck yeah!! If this is on the table at any point KP needs to do it without batting an eye. And Butler is only 28 -- in his prime and probably effective for at least 3 or 4 more years.

He went to one of my rival high schools for a couple years, then jumped ship to his fancy prep school. How could he do that after all the tax payer meals he had? Caron is definitely not loved in his hometown. Now Tony Romo, we love that guy! He just might bring Jessica Simpson back here one day.

Teams that are still in the midst of winning at a high rate almost never go into full on rebuild mode in the midst of a season; our trading partner is going to be one out of the Bobcats, Wizards and other cap constrained underachievers around the league. Phoenix is going to have a couple of massive expiring deals in 2010 with Nash and O'Neal coming off of their books, so they are already well positioned financially when that happens.
If Pritchard can upgrade Outlaw to Butler using the LaFrentz contract, that would be the final masterstroke in building a core. Good drafting and fine-tuning in following years would be great, but Oden, Roy, Aldridge, Fernandez, Butler, Batum and Bayless is just a crazy amount of talent. With players like Przybilla and Webster as good bench players.
I don't care he was arrested as a kid, I'm just saying, The Oregonian would have a field day with this guy if he came here, and I don't really see him as a guy who would be too happy to be in Portland (the city that is). I think he would be a good fit as well, would be our best defender not inside the paint
Amen to that! Most of you will turn on this team too if they do not win. It bugged me last week when JQuick alluded to how much power the media has with shaping the image of these players. And how lucky we were that the current players are now more open to the media. Don't get me wrong. I love the fact that we have a bunch of great guys on the team. But I could care less if all 15 players hated the local media and refused to talk to them. Not hearing their interviews would not ruin my day. I have heard the same questions and answers for the last 35 years. Now that i watch all 82 games on league pass, I know everything I need to know. All I need is Wheels, Rice and Barrett telling me who is injured and long they will be out. It's not that I dislike Quick. (I do hate cazano) But I do blame them for facilitating the JailBlazer image. They hated those players and made sure we did too. (Which was not too hard.) But we let them have too much power.
