Marbury has Surgery on Ankles...

    Marbury had similar surgeries on his ankles last May and became an All-Star in 2002-03 and the only player in the NBA to rank in the top 12 in points (22.3, 12th) and assists (8.1, 4th). He was a two-time winner of the Western Conference Player of the Week honor and became the first Sun to post back-to-back 20-point scoring seasons since Charles Barkley in 1994-95 and 1995-96.

    Marbury joins Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history to have career averages of 20 points and eight assists. Marbury averaged 20.5 points and 8.2 assists in his seven-year career and Robertson averaged 25.7 points and 9.5 assists in 13 seasons. </div>

    I didn't know he was the only other guy along with the big O to average 20 points and 8 assists a game....this is one of the reasons why many consider him the 2nd best PG in the league

    that's what i was thinking! i admit, i never got to see him play when he was "selfish" but how can 8 assists be selfish?! damn media.

    thats why steph is my favorite player, he's so fast, he can score, he can dish, he plays D :thumbsup:

    Marbury had a great season. He put himself at the 2nd best PG in the league behind JKidd. The Suns really look good for a few years. They have a great core with Marbury, Marion and Amare.

    I have always been a fan of him, and I thought he got way to much crap for the Nets being bad.
