Re: MARBURY: WE STILL DON'T KNOW SYSTEM MARBURY: WE STILL DON'T KNOW SYSTEMBy MARC BERMANMILWAUKEE - The last time the Knicks were in Milwaukee - on Dec. 30 - Stephon Marbury and Larry Brown were not on speaking terms. They are speaking now - and have been on speaking terms since - but they seem to have different views on what's going on with Team Titanic. In response to Brown saying the Knicks did not run the plays he called on four straight possessions down the stretch in Friday's collapse against the Bulls, Marbury made a very interesting remark.Though the season has just 24 games left, Marbury believes the players still don't know how to run Brown's system. An indictment on Brown? Marbury left it open to interpretation."We're still trying to figure out what we're supposed to do on the basketball court," Marbury said. "It is unusual but it is what it is."Asked if it's because there have been too many inconsistencies with the rotation, Marbury said, "If you want to say that, you can say that."[0]Brown has used 35 starting lineups and a seemingly infinite number of rotations this season. Marbury has said repeatedly during the season he'd love to see Brown settle on a starting lineup. That did not happen the past few days, as Brown had Qyntel Woods start in Memphis, with Jalen Rose getting a DNP. Against Chicago, it reversed itself, Woods getting the DNP and Rose starting.Marbury's remarks came after Brown had questioned his play at the end of the Bull game, when Marbury got his layup blocked and didn't run back on defense as he argued with an official. That led to a wide-open trey by Ben Gordon that thrust the Bulls into a 102-101 lead with 32 seconds left. After seeing the tape, Brown used choice words."I saw the play. I saw it on the film. I'm not happy about it," Brown said. "You can't expect anybody to do that. There's no excuse for that. I gotta believe he cares and won't do it again. It happened and it hurt us."Marbury absolved himself of blame for arguing."I wasn't caught up in the emotion," Marbury said.Brown says he's ready to go to a three-guard rotation with Marbury, Steve Francis and Crawford. But not for now.Francis will still come off the bench. Eventually, Brown said, he wants Quentin Richardson, the starting shooting guard, to shift to small forward. But for now, Richardson is starting at SG. Got that? Brown again talked about going to a nine-man rotation, too. But he's been saying that for two months. http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/60582.htm
Re: MARBURY: WE STILL DON'T KNOW SYSTEM yea i think him not settling on a rotation really has hurt them. hopefully he'll have one by the end of the season. he's gotta stop starting guys in their hometowns. i don't remember him ever doing that anywhere else. i may be wrong but i dunno. the record is why it is because of lack of chemistry which is due to larry not having a rotation yet and some of the players don't care.
Re: MARBURY: WE STILL DON'T KNOW SYSTEM I just think they got bad chemistry. Too many people who want the ball in their hands to score but don't play defense and don't move well without the ball. At least that is what I see. Not enough role players to help out the system.
