<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stephon Marbury's left shoulder dangled to his side as a team official helped him place a necktie over his head. When Marbury struggled with his suit jacket, a trainer was there to offer assistance.

Watching Marbury attempt to dress yesterday was like watching the Knicks try to execute their offense against Minnesota's 3-2 zone in a 96-90 loss to the Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden: It was a painful exercise on both counts and a troubling sign for Marbury and his teammates.

Just when it looked like Larry Brown's team was on the verge of turning its season around, they drop two straight games and see the one player they cannot afford to lose go down with an injury that Marbury felt was the result of a "dirty pick" set by Wally Szczerbiak.

X-rays taken at the Garden were negative and the Knicks are calling the injury a shoulder sprain to Marbury's nonshooting arm. Marbury will be reevaluated today, but it is unlikely he will be available for tomorrow's game in Chicago. The fear is that he could be sidelined for a week to 10 days.

"It hurts," Marbury said. "I knew I was hurt when I went back in and I couldn't get my arm to go up without any pain. I knew I was hurt. I took a chance of making it worse and I didn't want to do that."</div>

When Stephon's out, you know he's hurt. Marbury's one of the league's most durable players and has a 280 consecutive game streak going on. I knew he was hurt when he ran into Szczerbiak, but I didn't know it was too serious. This will mean Crawford and Nate will have to step up in the backcourt. Someone's going to have to make up for the 20 points, 8 assists and good defense Marbury's been playing with this season. Can you see a possible trade going down now that Marbury might be out a little bit?

Terrible timing, the Knicks were just starting to play some great basketball, and now they lose their starting PG. I'm curious to see who gets Marbury's minutes and how the team functions without him. Does Jamal Crawford get a crack at Marbury's role, or will LB put the ball in the hands of the rookie, Nate Robinson?

Earl Watson is looking better and better for this team, but do the Knicks have enough to get him and is Isiah capable of pulling it off without overpaying?

LB will definitely be earning his paycheck for the next 10 games.

Bad timing Indeed, mainly when the Knicks next home game is against Chauncey Billups's Pistons team.

It would have been fun to see the matchup between Billups and Marbs, but the Knicks had no chance of winning that game anyway. Unless the Pistons were to take the night off, which they won't.
