Crawford was pretty good for us at times (i.e. when he got hot.) The two things I will always remember him for was his unwillingness to pass to Batum and his atrocious fast breaks. He could ruin a 4 on 1 fast break every time.
Given that the Blazers had put in his contract that he had to make his decision by June 15th, I think Crawford knew that it was either opt out and have some control over where he plays next year, or opt in and get traded on draft day. Pretty much a no-brainer.
Good news! Put that money towards resigning Hickson. If only we could get Kurt Thomas off our books. If he retires, does he come off the books? Can we buy him out?
I wish him the best. When things are going good as Blazer player, things are real good. When things go bad as a Blazer player, they are real bad. I felt Jamal came in here and did the best he could given the circumstances . . . hell they asked him to play PG at one time. A down year for him career wise, but he tried to bring what he has done all his career, which is score. He didn't and gets the wrath of being the only game in town. I thought he got bad rap, but glad to see him move on.
