<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The returns are finally starting to come in on Celtics rookie point guard Marcus Banks, and they look pretty good. Banks is playing his best basketball of the season and it could not have come at a more important time. His play is now showing why Danny Ainge made the trade in last June?s draft to acquire the speedster from UNLV. . .</div> Bank on it Marcus Banks has been playing awesome offense lately and his defense is just exceptional, this kid can ball. Banks has been shooting over 50% from the field in his last 5 games of his rookie season. I think this guy will be a very succesfull point gaurd in the NBA and a premiere scoring option too Banks has scored career highs of 24 points and 28 points this week, and gotten 7 steals in a game which is also a career high. Banks is the man.
I agree that he's starting to look better, but Dana Barros was brought in because Banks is scoring out there, but not passing very well right now. Banks puts the ball on the floor too early and doesn't keep his head up to see his teammates. He constantly misses guys on the break and then tries to force the issue too late, often turning over the ball. I like Marcus' defense thus far. He's using his speed well and his positioning is improving alot. However, the job of the PG right now needs to be to keep the ball moving and get others involved, not score points.
