Marcus Camby isn’t officially a Raptor yet, but has already asked for either a buyout or trade so he can join a contending club and could soon be on the free-agent market, The Post has learned.

Camby has two years and roughly $7.6 million left on his Knicks contract. But of his final-season wage of $4.2M, only $1.2M is guaranteed. Camby has no plans to retire, according to his agent Rick Kaplan.

Camby is involved in the Andre Bargnani trade that sent him, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson's contract and draft picks to the Raptors, who are rebuilding. Camby’s request will have no bearing on the trade becoming official on July 10th.

Toronto was essentially trying to dump Bargnani and appear to be OK with fulfilling the wishes of Camby, who was their No. 1 pick 17 years ago, selected by then-Toronto president Isiah Thomas.
“We have a great deal of respect for and faith in the new management of the Raptors,’’ Camby’s agent Rick Kaplan said. “So something is likely to work out for all involved.’’

The Knicks are looking for a big man to add to the roster but because of new NBA rules are not allowed to re-sign Camby for one year.
