"I don't care about Kobe, Gary Payton, Karl Malone and Shaq. We got a hell of a squad here, we got a hell of a group, a great coaching staff and we just got to go out there and get it done every night." said Elie.

I'm sure Popovich appreciates all this smack talk to the media from his new coach. [IMG]

As if the Lakers need any more fuel to the fire. Mario Elie what are you thinking? [IMG]

Let the talk rain down on the "Late-Show" (as in yesterday's news)

Here is how I sum up the Lakers.

    Kobe is in deep..well crap.

Shaq gets more out of shape every season.

Adding 2 all time greats vets that have a combined 0 rings.

The role and bench players stunk it up last year, many just flat out afraid to shoot the basketball.

I know many of you will try and eat me alive for this, but I don't hate any team and Shaq is one of my favorite players, but I must call it like I see it. Truth is, the Lakers played embarrassing basketball last season, that should be all they need for a wakeup call.

I won't give them any credit until I see this unit play better.

    January 12th, 2004 Circle that date in <font color="Red">baboon ass red</font>!

The Lakers played with injuries all season long. Kobe, Shaq, Fox ... take 3 starters off any other team and let's see them even make the playoffs. They had to deal with the emotional loss of Chick Hearn and you have to realize the Lakers have played more games than any team in the NBA over the last 3 years. Wear and tear was bound to catch up to them, especially with their lack of depth. This year the depth is there and the hunger is back. Kobe will be in Hawaii for the start of training camp, and Shaq is in great shape. Players like Pargo, Rush, & George will be even better and both rookies we drafted have been playing very well in the summer leagues. The West is very tough, but the title will be back in L.A.

They should have won it in my opinion, I had them going to the conf. finals to play the Kings (thanks to injuries that changed fast)

The hunger should be back as this team should win 65 games.

What exactly was wrong with what Mario said? I would love to know....And Shaq always talks a load of crap about other teams...Why can't others do it? even when Mario didn't you lakers fans take it the wrong way... Spurs are the champs so they have a right to say anything they want about any team but they aren't like that..They won't diss teams or talk trash like the Lakers and Shaq do...

There's nothing wrong with what Mario said. Trash talking is part of the game, but as Laker fans we are going to defend our turf and bash him for his comments. Tim and Trasho are going to get owned by Shaq and the Mailman.

You mean like last season when Duncan and the Spurs embarassed fat ass Shaq and his Lakers on L.A's homecourt?

Spurs made your whole team cry [IMG]

Yeah, but not as embarassing as the Pistons getting swept! [IMG]

I would rather Spurs destroying L.A than Pistons making the finals..It was that sweet....Seeing Kobe and co crying was funny stuff...Oh and Pistons getting swept wasn't embarassing to anybody...And at least they didn't cry...Spurs are the team I grew up watching so Spurs winning the title is more important what the Pistons do....And the fact I won't see hardly any games in Detroit anymore...Basically put Spurs as my number 1 team again....

Any team getting swept in the playoffs has to be embarrassing, especially in the East! What does crying have to do with anything? Maybe the Pistons should have showed more emotion and cried. I'm glad the Lakers's crying entertained you, it just shows that in defeat they still are a topic of conversation and more entertaining than Tim Duncan and the Spurs will ever be.

So when the Spurs lose the title this season and the Pistons get into the finals, will the Pistons be #1 again?

Lakers can be entertaining as they like..but Spurs have the title and the two time defending MVP.....until Lakers prove otherwise...Spurs are the champs....The title has gone to only two teams in the last 5 seasons....I don't expect that to change...but weather it is the Lakers or Spurs are champs we will have to see...

I'm not living in Detroit anymore So I won't see hardly any of their games....I have season tickets to the Spurs games this season..and as for your question which is pretty damn stupid...I would support Spurs even if they won only 10 games....I have supported them for a long time..even through the bad times....Unless I move back to Detroit...no they won't be my number 1 team....Wave knows exactly what I mean by all this...

Some of you guys moaned that I should stick to one team..so there you have it...You guys are confident as always Lakers will win the title..As I am about the Spurs...Thats all else there is to say

Well for one, the Pistions made a huge comeback against the magic. Down 3-1 isnt an easy thing to do being in the east or west. Another is that it should be more embarrassing for the lakers to get beat by the spurs because they were the 3peat and the team to beat. Spurs surely beat them too. Pistons had nothing to lose, they were facing a team with great experience.

Haha, Allnet- the biggest bandwagoner in history. You like the Spurs most now that they beat the Lakers and won the title..way to be loyal! [IMG]

Pretty clever..Nice pic. "The reign has fallen." [IMG] You think you're pretty funny dude. Oh my gosh I haven't been more anxious in my life for June 2004 when the Lakers win the title.. and I will rub it in your face so bad that you will cry. Mark my words, there is gonna be a storm coming, and you are gonna be in the center of it--and won't like it very much!

Stupid question? I just asked would Pistons be #1 again if they get further. Sad. Wow you can actually get season tickets for the defending champs still? Just goes to show how boring the franchise truely is.

Look kid you have no clue about me and how long I lived in San Antonio....I supported them through the bad...It's funny a laker fan of all people calling someone a bandwagoner [IMG] You are likely one yourself...But that would be making a fault statement on something I don't know the facts too...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pretty clever..Nice pic. "The reign has fallen." You think you're pretty funny dude</div>

The pic says the truth..The lakers reign did fall..

I'm not a laker player or fan..I don't moan and cry when my team loses...Nor would I if Spurs don't win the title....Did I rub Spurs winning the title in your faces in june of this year? Nope.....So If Lakers win it and you do the same..It will prove what people know all along about Laker fans...No class all trash

Why shouldn't I get season tickets? Spurs are actually more exciting than you lot give them credit for...Parker,Manu,Hedo,Mercer all like to get on the break and finish...And your question seemed to me was "If spurs lose and Pistons get further will you support Pistons as your 1st team" So yes that is a stupid question..

A lot seem to be that way. Just compare them to the Spurs organization.

Yeah they are. The depth chart is great. They are getting up there with the Kings. I have a feeling next season is gonna be a lot of fast break points with all the talent on the roster.
