<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and that the Bulls and Suns are giving serious thought to a trade in which Suns forward Shawn Marion would be jettisoned to the Bulls for power forward Tyson Chandler and the Bulls' top draft pick, which is the second overall choice.</div> http://journaltimes.com/nucleus/index.php?blogid=24 If I were the Suns I think I would do it.
helll no why the hell would the suns even trade matrix? and esp for Chandler and the 2nd overall pick? The draft does not have any players who can play as well as Marion and Chandler is just over-paid Marion is an all-star who has the potential to be an MVP He's one of the best players in the league defensively..offensively there is no way in hell that the suns would trade him.
mairon would make the bulls even bewter...adn tyson at center but than if toronot doesnt take adam than we could take with number 2
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SkiptoMyLue11:</div><div class="quote_post">Its a tough one, Marion is overpaid too (15,16, and 17 mill over the next 3 years)</div> how is marion overpaid? by your logic, EVERYONE in the nba is overpaid. for what he does, id say he's compensated quite farily. he's without a doubt the best rebounding sf in the league, and one of the best position and overall rebounders currently playing. he's a good defender, can score from anywhere on the court, and never complains. he gets most of his points off put backs, kick outs and broken plays...you barely even have to run a play for the guy. he's one of the best sf's in the league...exactly how is he overpaid? i think this deal is ridiculous...look what happens when colangelo leaves, the team starts making crazy moves. you'd have to be off your rocker to give up marion...at least for what seems to be on the table in return. even if you have diaw ready to step in and take his place, its still nuts imo. they must be thinking of drafting thomas or roy maybe? jesus, i think its nuts... if this means marion is on the market, the raptors should pick him up...im sure they'd take charlie V for him if they're willing to take chandler. this move really makes no sense to me. chandler? come on...
what...what ....TRADE MARION are the suns out of their minds. Marion is 6'7 averages over 10 rebounds he finishes on break succesfully about 90% of the time he's constantly improving, plays hard D, get loads of steals, blocks the odd shot and can guard the best PF's in the leauge, despite his height, with much success. Now I would only consider this trade if there we were getting something good in return chandler and no.2 no way does this equal to Marion's value. I also think that if marion was taken out of the current Suns squad then they would amount more losses whereas if they kept him they would have more wins. Suns if your reading don't do keep marion
Just read on Realgm.com that Ben Gordon will only be dealt in a blockbuster deal maybe they should throw in gordon with chandler then maybe I would like the trade haha
Why on earth would the Suns do this? They are sitting nicely with two picks in this year's draft and the most important issue is that they are geared up for a Finals run next season with Amare coming back. I can see pulling the trigger on a deal like this in two years being that you probably gave it a good title run by then and Marion would be due $17 million. Just wait out the contract. In my mind with Amare coming back healthy the Suns are the favorite to win the title next year. They can also use the 21st and 27th (I belive) to move up to the #10 possibily.
I'm a Bulls fan... but, if I were a Suns fan I would hate this trade... Chandler is overpaid and has no offense game at all. He can play defense, but is too agressive because he fouls a lot on one's he should just put his hands up. That's not close to enough for Shawn Marion. With the #2 pick, they could pick anyone they want I guess, that would be the only good thing in this deal, but still isn't enough for Marion. I don't think anybody in the draft can replace Marion, unless Morrison actually becomes a Larry Bird type player. And like other people mentioned Amare is coming back, and the Suns will have a inside force... Tyson isn't one anyways lol.
No chance the Suns make this type of move. They will be the team to beat next year with Amare back. Making a run with Marion, Amare, Nash and the supporting cast deserves at least one year to try and accomplish a title run. Also the team needs to evaluate Amare's comeback. If Amare has any setbacks I don't think they can count on a rookie and Tyson Chandler filling in. They can definitely count on Marion to play PF again if Amare goes down. The Suns would need a lot more assurances to part with Marion.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If a trade sending the Bulls' top pick (No. 2 overall) in Wednesday's draft, along with Tyson Chandler, to Phoenix for Shawn Marion sounds too good to be true, that's because it is. The Racine (Wis.) Journal-Times reported Thursday that the Bulls and Suns were giving "serious thought'' to such a deal. Bulls general manager John Paxson shot down the report Friday. ''There's no truth to [it],'' he said. Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni also told the East Valley/Scottsdale (Ariz.) Tribune this week that the 6-7, 228-pound Marion -- who averaged 20.4 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.85 steals, 1.6 assists and 1.15 blocks in the Suns' 20-game playoff run to the Western Conference finals -- is not on the market. "You can ignore it [the rumors],'' D'Antoni said. "I'll tell you what's going to happen: Someone will call me and I'll listen, because you always have to listen. And then we'll go, 'No.' And then it will be in the paper the next day that we're interested.</div> Source
They suns may be the only place that Tyson could be a success. He doesnt have to worry about creating basket plus he can run down the court as quick as a small forward. He can jump out of the gym and is a good shot blocker. But to me the trade doesnt work for chicago. We simply have enough small forwards. And we dont run like the suns so he wont geth that many easy fast break dunks.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Marion is an all-star who has the potential to be an MVP</div> Yeah, anyways, Chi isn't giving enough up to acquire Marion, I'm sure we'd have to throw one of our young guys in, and once that happens I'm not really interested.
Chicago's perspective great deal. If their really considering going for Big Ben, even better. Phoenix must really like Diaw and cant really argue. I saw the WCF, and he killed the Mavs. I'm guessing their gonna trade that pick again to someone who wants it a lot. They dont need Morrison with Diaw and Amare as their future.
I really don't see the point in the suns doin this.....Chandler doesn't make u that much better, and the number 2 pick isn't a guarantee.
