http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270418104 :shok: :shok: :shok: Wow, I wish I could have witnessed this. I've never seen a no hitter before. Greatest baseball achievement I've ever witnessed was when Carlos Delgado had a 4 HR game like 3-4 years ago with the Jays.

I saw the highlights, awesome. That defense pulled off some amazing plays for him. They smothered him with beer. [IMG]

I've never actually watched a game where a pitcher threw a no hitter. I don't watch baseball besides Jays games anyway though...

[IMG] I've witnessed this before, pretty good accomplishment but hitting for the cycle, perfect game, 4 HR in a game, etc, are all more rare than this.. None the less this is still a great accomplishment. Beurhle is still an above average pitcher, and nothing more.

Its really just an amazing accomplishment. And king james wats wrong with being an above average pitcher in the major leagues?

I pitch, so I know its tough to get everyone out but I still think its harder to get 4 homers in one game then a no hitter. Nothing, lots of people in the media are talking about Buerhle coming back from a rough year last season, and having an all-star year. He's an above average pitcher that'll get you 10-13 wins a year and theres nothing wrong with that.

Also, Roy Halladay is a complete stud. You don't know what youre talking about..

So, I don't know how he will fare this year, but you shouldn't just right him off as a 'just above average' pitcher already.

I didnt mean for my comment to come off like that, the Jays have some talent at some key positions but then have some holes in other positions.. I like Rios, and Wells alot - and I've never seen Hallday pitch actually.. Ive seen highlights and he looks great. I don't know if they've got the overall talent to make a playoff run.Buehrle did have a good year 2 years ago, and a good year his 2nd year in the league.. He seems to be pretty inconsistant..

I'm not sure how that is considered just an above average pitcher....

Every year the guy leads the league in innings pitched, and starts. So he has more chances than most.. My version of a "above average pitcher is a guy that'll get you 10-13 wins consistantly, then the occasional 15-16 win season and all star appearence.. He's a #2 guy in the rotation basically..

And he was also on the DL for about a month also. He has great movement on all of his pitches. He throws a mean cutter and splitter as well, and he can paint te edges of the strike zon beauifully. He has amazing control

This is more impressive because I heard that he didn't through a single 90+ MPH pitch. That single-handedly proves that you don't have to be overpowering to be dominant.
