This is a shame, a quality player with a big future moves to a club like Real Betis. I'm sure after a season at Betis one big Spanish Club will buy him, rating him on his La Liga performances Real Madrid, Valencia or Seville will be very interested in him.

Thats my worry, should we have given him an extra season or so? I'm sure we wont be complaining when we get a top left winger in to replace him!

Benitez isn't stupid, he knows exactly what has to be done to make this team premier league champions.

I expect a top class left winger to come in as Benitez said that he wants to spend big this summer.

I rated Gonzalez and im sad to see him leave. He was young and he would have developed. Rafa could have just loaned him out for a while and then bring him back when he is ready. Anyway good luck to him and i hope he does well for Real Betis

Disappointing to see him leave the Premiership, and what Rodney said is right, he could have just loaned him out, maybe even to a bigger club than Real Betis.

Liverpool never gave him enough games and well one or two seasons most at Betis and then he will be picked up by a bigger team Liverpool should keep him and just loan him out.

He is a good player. If I was Benitez I would loan him into a English club so he will adapt and I think Benitez needs to sort out his right sided area 1st b4 goin to the left.

So they sell Gonzalez yet keep Pennant? Rafa is a bit of a weirdo when he comes to transfers

In my opinion Gonzalez is more talented than Pennant, definitely, but Pennant is English and he could play in the English pace. But Rafa shouldn't sell Gonzalez though, he has just wasted his talent...
