<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Should Walsh land in New York, it is unlikely that he would keep Thomas as head coach. Instead, Walsh's arrival could pave the way for Mark Jackson, the former Knicks' point guard, to take over on the bench. Walsh believes Jackson can be a top-flight NBA head coach and was said to be pushing for him to be hired last year before the Pacers decided to hire Jim O'Brien.</div> source
ive been on this board, and in each post that involved new coaches, mark jackson was my answer. hes good. but he lacks coaching experience. so he might not be successful
I think he will, every team that acquired him got better w/ him as a PG, he's been around, knows what the star player, the scrub player and the in between player can do, he would be be a not only good but a very very good coach in the NBA. He also has recieved respect everywhere he's been.
Knicks watching the Nets moves? Pulled this from a Dallas paper: http://www.dallasbasketball.com/fullColumn.php?id=334 <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BACKROOM TRADE WHISPERS Before we abandon the discussion of the Kidd trade, we'll slip in a little tidbit we heard right after the deadline. Remember all those "calls to Stern's office" we heard about from ESPN, supposedly protesting the Stackhouse boomerang? We got all kinds of non-credible reports that kept changing, but eventually the issue became moot when Dallas and NJ made the trade without Stackhouse. A friend of ours who works behind the scenes at ESPN and catches a lot of the back-and-forth as it passes through tells us that - in his "fly-on-the-wall" mode - he got the sense that those protests (and stories) did not come from Western Conference GMs. Instead, he said what he saw told him the stories of the protests were a favor from certain media at ESPN to the NY Knicks front office, who didn't want the Kidd trade to go through. Why would the Knicks want to kill the trade? Because, the story goes, Dolan and his minions felt that if the Nets made a splashy trade, it would grab the headlines in the NY basketball market and make it harder for the miserable Knicks to compete for fans. And the gossipy theory makes at least as much sense as anything else the Knicks have done all year.</div>
The Knicks are gay. I don't get this. I thought the Knicks hated Mark? I could've sworn reading something saying the Knicks dissed on Mark a few times, because of his affiliation with the Nets & YES.
i think mark wants the nets job... lol he would at least get the guys to PLAY harder on a consistent basis.... lets hope we win tonite
mack jackson will make a very good head coach, you know why? because he's been everywhere around the league, from bad teams to NBA finals teams.
Zach Randolph, when you dribble and lose the ball like that at the three point line, you're embarrassing yourself. That was a terrible crossover, you're not Allen Iverson. I don't know what you're doing here pulling up for a three. What are you even doing? You are not Dirk Nowitski, you're not Ray Allen, you're not Rik Smits, you're Zach Randolph. Zach Randolph, you're better than that. <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7lvYf08X6tc&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7lvYf08X6tc&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Knicks appear to be closing in on Pacer GM Donnie Walsh as their new president of basketball operations. And if Walsh replaces Isiah Thomas in one Garden job, YES analyst Mark Jackson may replace him in the other, as Knick coach. The Daily News calls Jackson and Scott Skiles ?€œthe most likely coaching candidates?€?. Walsh had recommended Jackson as Pacer coach last summer.</div> Knicks may move soon on Pacers' CEO Donnie Walsh - Frank Isola - New York Daily News Really now. I was under the impression that Walsh would do the GM duties, while Isiah would simply step down as president and stick to coaching. Oh well, if Mark or Scott end up getting the job, I wouldn't be too worried.
