<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2813745PHOENIX -- Marshall Faulk's decision was easy after spending last year working for the NFL Network: At 34, his body is more suited for a television studio than for the rigors of playing running back. After sitting out last season because of a knee injury, Faulk officially announced his retirement Monday. He's ninth on the NFL's career rushing list, 33 yards behind Jim Brown, who at one time was the standard for the position.</div>

Who will get more HOF votes... The better career, higher career numbers Curtis Martin. Or the best RB in the NFL for a short time-span Marshall Faulk.

Faulk had probably a better career than Martin (don't get me wrong, Martin was a stud and I respect him greatly as one of the best ever). He did it all, and he has a ring (a lot is based on that).

I don't think it matters, they're both First Ballet HOF'ers. Curtis Martin, Marshall Faulk, Tiki Barber, Priest Holmes, and possibly Corey Dillon all becoming eligible at once though possibly. I'd tend to think Martin and Faulk will get in First Ballot, Tiki might get in at a later date too.

Martin first-ballot? I dont know about that... He had the numbers and all, but not flashy at all. Not first-ballot worthy IMO.

While not taking anything away from Faulk, during his 4 year dominance, he was the by-product of a high powered offense

I don't think Priest Holmes will factor much. He'd probably need a weak class to even get in. He really only had three seasons that were good. And David, you sound like some kids at my school. They try and argue that Marshall Faulk won't even get in the HoF.

Curtis Martin was a consistent back. Marshall only dominated during a 4-year span and that was due to the high-powered offense the Rams had.
