Well insiders tell me (newCAVSowner) that Mashburn wants to play for Silias again. He wouldn't tell me where he got the information b/c he likes to be the "news" guy. Anybody else hear any word on this? Sorry I have no sources. Im just layin it out for yal to play it out.
Mashburn is always hurt and he doesn't have too many good years left. It would be ok if we got him for a couple of cheap years, but I don't want anymore Ollie/Newble deals that tie up non essential players for 4 or 5 years.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Mashburn is always hurt and he doesn't have too many good years left</div> Well he will certainly be an offensive vet that we desperately need at the SF position. When he is healthy, he is definatly a factor. He seems to be playing fine right now still up to 20 ppg.
Mash doesn't come off contract till next season, true???? I love his game, but it will definately will be on the slide by then, to go with al those cruelling injuries!
I would love for Mash to be on the cavs when he is healthy he plays hard and does everything well. my history teacher played with Mash in aau back in the day he also had a 10 day contract with the bucks.
Mash is out for 3 weeks after developing swelling in the knee. Add that to the 44 games he missed to start the season and you have yourself a very unreliable player. Not to mention he will be 32 by the time his contract is up.
he is in my opinion close to the end of his career i dont think he can take to many more injuries to that knee.
I know a small forward who could come at a reasonable price, can hit the bomb, solid no.3 scorer who can step up. Good hands and ok defender! Plays well off big men, and has played under one of the best coaches. Has played some big games on us I think. Think his name starts with Stephon...... Some help here, as he could be useful!
if we are talking about bringing in mashburn, why dont we just sign grant hill as well when orlando gets rid of him, we've had all we can handle with injuries (ilguaskas anyone?). his age is the killer factor though.
Mash seems alot older than he really is. Everyone should remember that up and coming Dallas team featuring the JJJ. Jamal Mashburn Jason Kidd Jimmy Jackson Didn't that team crash and burn. Maybe it was the Tarpley influence!
What I read and heard about Mashburn coming to the Cavs was that it would be after his contract expires in 2005 and that he might be interested because of his relationship with Silas. He would be a solid addition but like was said earlier he shouldn't be given a huge contract. He is on the downside of his career and has had injury problems. He is a versatile offensive player who could help the Cavs. Is anyone else concerned that Silas' top players with the Hornets, Mashburn and Davis for example, seem to have had injury problems the last few years? The way he plays certain Cavs major minutes I hope that something similar doesn't happen in the Cavs future since those guys played very major minutes for him with the Hornets.

Mash has been injured his whole career in Dallas, Miami and the hornets. I would think he would come at too high a price for the risk.
Rasheed is better suited offensively and defensively in the post at the 4 spot. Yes he can play small forward, and center too, but he's too good inside to play him on the wing. How about Stephon Jackson. I here he's opting out of his contract in Atlanta.
Karm we all know you love Stephon Jackson, you dont have to say it in everypost....anyways, Rasheed will most likely be a Knick next year. But has made comments about wanting to play with LeBron. If signed he would definatly play 3 as he did in Portland.
OK, I'll stop Mr_Infante. If you didn't pick it up, I was just mucking around. I dont like Wallace full time at small forward. Better suited using his quickness and skills on the big boys as he is doing in Detroit.
Yeah but you can look at it this way, front line: Zydrunas, Carlos, Rasheed back court: LeBron, Jeff. Now that is an ULTIMANT rebounding team as well as a running team. Rasheed can pretty much do it all, rebound, post, as well as hit the outside jumper. Plus he is pretty quick for being 6'11. I wouldn't mind him there. Seemed to worked quite well in Portland.
I thought he struggled a bit at Portland when he was moved over to small forward. I would be ecstatic though if he were brought here. He still is effective on the wing, but is better suited defending at the four. A front court of Z, Booz and Wallace does make me drool!
