In front of a sell-out crowd, Local crowd-pleaser Mason Menard won the UBO All-America Lightweight title on Saturday night (July 31) at the Civic Center in Rayne, Louisiana when he beat Missouri state champion Robbie Cannon by technical knockout 37 seconds into the seventh round.

Menard got off to a slow start, but eventually took control and seemed to be landing the cleaner shots while Cannon was a bit busier. In round seven Menard connected with a left hook followed by a picture perfect right hand that send Cannon down. Cannon got to his feet, but referee Larry Berger felt he was unable to continue and waved the fight off.
