Matt looked amazing in the first pats preseason game. Don't know the exact numbers but he looked great. This was his first game since High School. The 7th round pick was a back up to Palmer/Leinart.

Too bad he will never get a chance to play behind Brady and Flutie.

No offense, but the kid is playing the Bengals 3rd String defense. Lets see him play something decent before he is the next Brady [IMG] [IMG] PS: I dont see how he is beating out Tom Brady, Doug Flutie and Rohan Davey to even make the roster.

He was playing the 1st string in the 2nd quarter. Cassel will beat out Davey and Flutie because Davey might get traded and Flutie won't even play. This kid hasn't played since High School and I never said he was the next Brady.

He did look good in his first game since high school. He will probably be Brady's backup.

He will be the second string QB because Flutie is just there and maybe might not get traded and Rohan is good but isn't great and he might be gone soon...Cassel is a good young QB too bad we have Brady already but two great QB's isn't a bad thing is it lol

Davey isn't good at all. He is awful, I say we trade him for a 5th round pick to maybe Cleveland. He is a wasted talent and plus he should be playing LB not QB.

He should be playing LB instead of QB? Why, because he's 6-2, 245 LBs? Just because he's that big doesn't mean he can't be a good QB. Rohan Davey ran a 4.7 in the combine when he was drafted. Being that big can only be an advantage and make you more durable when getting tackled. He's a mobile QB. Has Rohan Davey ever really been given a chance to do well? It can't be denied that Rohan Davey has a strong arm and he could be a great 3rd string backup to Brady. As for Matt Cassel, I liked what I've seen so far. He reminds me alot of Kliff Kingsbury. Kliff came in and looked good in training camp, etc. and was put on the practice squad. Which is what will probably happen to Matt Cassel. I don't see Bill Belichick going with a rookie at #3 on the depth chart, IMHO. It's already been pretty much speculated/assumed that Doug Flutie will back up Brady this upcoming season.

I know he came from USC but still he played like one full game his entire college career. [IMG]

No, Cassel was a 7th round pick for the Pats. And Go Patriots Davey has gotten a lot of chances in preseason and camp and he looked like shit. I find it funny how everyone reporter in NE hated Davey.

Would you expect Brady to do well with a 3rd string OL and not the greatest supporting cast in a 2nd string or 3rd string? Training Camp really does not prove anything. I remember a punter by the name of Daniel Pope looking better than Ken Walter in camp a couple of seasons ago. Pats chose to go with Walter over Pope. I also remember seeing a young kid out of Texas Tech named Kliff Kingsbury do well in camp, completing alot of nice passes, having a nice spiral, but he didn't make it. My point is that I don't believe Davey has been given a full chance to succeed. People just do not like him because he is a bigger QB and people don't believe he can be a serivicable athlete. Davey may just become the next Rich Gannon or even a Doug Flutie. Gannon and Flutie didn't play to well at first and probably were disliked, but nonethless went on to have a great career. Give Davey a chance to succeed, he may just turn out to be good.

Wow you really love Rohan Davey? Yeah he is throwing to the 3rd string but he is also PLAYING AGAINST the 3rd string. Davey looks like shit every time he plays, And I'm not the only one who thinks that, I think your the only one who thinks he is good. Greg Dickerson and Michael Holley both think Davey will get cut or traded before the season. He was probably the worse LSU product Belechick drafted. And you said no one likes him because of his size? That's wierd, doesn't everyone love Daunte Caulpeper? Same size!
