"Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew's hopes of a sixth straight 100-yard rushing game came down to one final shot Sunday against the Raiders. Just like that, Jones-Drew burst through the left side of the line for a 30-yard touchdown that pushed him past the magic mark and snapped a 31-31 tie in the Jaguars' 38-31 victory. Few, if any, gave much thought to Jones-Drew's league-best streak when the Jaguars lined up from the Raiders 30-yard line with 1 minute, 42 seconds left and the score tied. Winning the game took precedence. As he has done all season, Jones-Drew showed up when the Jaguars needed him most and accomplished both goals in one play. "If it happened, it happened," Jones-Drew said. "I just wanted to win the game. We already had a 100-yard rusher." That distinction belonged to backfield mate Rashad Jennings, who surpassed the century mark on his fourth carry, thanks to a 74-yard jaunt. Jones-Drew was forced to work hard for everything he got until he ran untouched for the 30-yard TD. But Jones-Drew said he's more concerned about helping the Jaguars hang on to their slim lead in the AFC South. Personal accomplishments aren't on his mind right now. Yet, the De La Salle High graduate has the league rushing title within his sights. His 101 yards against the Raiders give him 1,278 for the season, 48 yards more than Arian Foster of Houston.
