Mavericks @ Pistons Sorry no time for a preview V Dallas (20-15) at Detroit (23-13) Key players Dirk Nowitzki/Ben Wallace <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Detroit Pistons try for their longest winning streak in 13 years on Sunday when they host the Dallas Mavericks at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons have a season-high seven in a row - their longest winning streak since the 1991-92 campaign. They have not won a eight consecutive games since an 11-game run from December 26, 1990-January 17, 1991. Detroit has held its last two opponents to 68 and 66 points, respectively. It is trying to become the first team in NBA history to allow less than 70 points in three consecutive games. The Pistons have not allowed an opponent to reach 100 points 36 games, extending the NBA record to start a season. They have not allowed 100 points in a league-record 38 regular-season games dating to last season. </div> NBA.com Preview
I think Detroit is gonna destroy them. They appear to be more deadly and consistent on both ends of the floor. Dallas can only hope that their offense holds up for a big lead so that the defense will have to be strengthened by Detroit in order to catch up. That's hardly likely though in my opinion, hence I say Detroit smashes them by around 11. Big Ben, please contain Dirk, you guys deserve this win. You have superior defense by far.
You could have asked me to make a preview allnet. Anyways, I agree with Magic, Detroit will win. The Pacers were able to beat the Mavericks, and Detroit will too! Play good defense and play Larry's style of basketball and this will be a win. The Mavericks horrible road play doesn't help them either. Pistons by 8.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry no time for a preview</div>Fair enough. Anyway, gritty game, Pistons by 6.
I fliped a coin and it landed towards the Pistons getting the W by 7. Good game to watch between the two teams.
Pistons got the win 115-102 8th straight win Amazing offensive display put on tonight at the Palace.Chauncey Billups was unstoppable...knocking down 7-10 three-pointers with a total of 27 points 3 rebounds 5 assists on 9-20 shooting. Chucky Atkins was a huge boost off the bench with 18 points including 5-7 from downtown.Same old game for big Ben,17 points 14 rebounds 4 assists and 1 block. Nice game from Prince also, 14 points 5 rebounds 5 assists Darko got on for the final 2 minutes and finished the game with a nice hook The only bad part of this game was the fact the Pistons long time streak of 38 straight games without giving up 100 points was ended. All thanks to back to back threes late on by guard Tony Delk Next game At home to the Toronto Raptors on wednesday.
Mavs need to trade Walker, Jamison, Nash or Finley (Dirk is offically the only untradeable one) get something done, because the teams they are loosign to is just pathetic.
Good win, slightly dissapointed that we didn't keep them under 100. That was a nice hook by Darko at the end of the game. You can see he is full of potential. As soon as he gets enough stamina then he will become a great player. Great game for Billups. The next few games are against pretty easy teams. Lets hope that we can extend out streak to 12 games and beyond!
Watched the game at the Palace...came too late for a Darko bobblehead Great energy at the end of the game. I wish we could have kept the Mavs under 100. I think we got too excited trying to get Darko to score, instead of grinding out the final minute. Regardless, great win. 13-20 from three point range was amazing. Chauncey's three in a row triggered an eruption at the Palace. It was funny, because right after his 3rd three, the Mavs called a time-out and the Pistons did a quick video homage to Chauncey.
Yeah, I saw the eruption to go on the run in the third quarter. Everything was even and looked like it would be a long game, then BOOM. We suddenly are killing the Mavericks.
I missed the game, had plans, but it sounds like it was really good. From what I read about it, the Pistons made a lot of threes. Their offense won the game last night. I wish I'd seen it, that almost never happens
Such an excieting game, Pistons best offensive game of the season. 115 points. Ben outscored Dirk, 17-14, while he pulled down 13 boards. Chauncey and Chucky went 12-18 from the land of plenty while the whole Dallas squad shot 4-25. Most excieting game of the season, 8 wins in a row. Too bad are 100- points streak ended.
I excepted the Mavs to break 100, but the Pistons? When's the last time they did that? Anyway, the team I wanted to win won, so all's well. Now, if they could do that more often...
