Mavs 97 Grizzlies 87 Grades: Jason Gets Ticked The Grizzlies are a good team, so it?s not like the Mavs were complacent. Still, the Mavs were facing a 19 point deficit in the first half; that is until Jason got slammed to the floor after making a shot. Jason, incensed that a foul wasn?t called, got up off the floor and stole the inbounds pass. He ended up on the weakside baseline. Jason took his time and made sure his feet were behind the arc and drained a trey. Jason, along with Dirk went on a 21-2 run to get the Mavs back in this game. Laura Green : A+; Laura is getting more and more air time as her talent is getting the recognition it deserves! Even Bob and Mark are talking about her. +36 FSN Southwest : B; Decent lingering coverage tonight. Not quite up to UPN standards, but someone has got to be number two. +21 Johnson: A, Avery didn?t have to throw a fit during halftime, Jason had already taken care of that. Howard: A; Josh stepped on Keith?s foot and rolled his ankle in the first quarter. Josh had to be helped back to the locker room, but he returned in the second period, but not for the second half. Josh played 19 minutes but clearly struggled after coming back from the ankle injury. Zero turnovers. +5 Nowitzki: A+; Dirk was getting abused by Wright, but with Jason leading the charge, achieved his focus with a game high 31 points (13-23 FG, 2-4 treys, 5-5 FT). Dirk?s attention on offense seemed to inspire his defense as Dirk had a game high 4 blocked shots to go with 4 assists. Diop: B+; DeSagana made his impact defending Gasol, but picked up his second foul halfway through the first period. Diop gets it together in the second half and picks up only 2 more fouls during his 25 minutes of game time. DeSagana grabs 5 rebounds and blocked 3 shots to go with 2 steals. Zero turnovers. +9 Terry: A+; Jason getting knocked to the floor after a shot provided the Mavs all the inspiration they needed. Jason scored 23 points (9-11 FG, 3-4 treys, 2-2 FT) as he and Dirk led the Mavs from 19 down to grab the lead in the third period. Terry pitched in a game high 6 assists against only one turnover. +30 Griffin: B; Adrian started off poorly with 2 uncharacteristic turnovers, but Griffin turned it around afterwards with 7 points and 8 rebounds. +11 Dampier: B+; Erick struggled getting the ball in the basket tonight, but grabbed 10 rebounds (6 offensive) to go with 2 blocked shots. Zero turnovers. +7 Van Horn: B-; Keith struggled with foul troubles in picking up 2 points and 2 rebounds.
