<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> SALT LAKE CITY ? The Mavericks have reached the quarter pole of the NBA season, which means Avery Johnson only has about 25 percent of the information about his team that he'd like to have. He's tinkering, experimenting with things that may or may not work. His current project is Jason Terry and how to get the guard back on track offensively, something that Terry's teammates are eager to see. "Jet has to produce," Dirk Nowitzki said. "He was a big part of us getting to the Finals. He's one of our best shooters, especially from 3-point land. So we want him to be aggressive." And Nowitzki said he's willing to do the prodding. "I have to push him all the time," he said. "I tell him, 'You taking 10 shots, that's not what we want.' "If he takes 20 shots, nobody's going to be mad at him. He's trying to run the point guard some and get everybody involved, but when he's aggressive and gets his points, it opens up a lot of things for the other guys." For the first 19 games, Johnson usually substituted Jerry Stackhouse for Terry midway through the first quarter. That meant Devin Harris was the point guard for a majority of the first quarter in most games. Terry was moved off the ball and spent much of his time spotting up on the perimeter, waiting for the ball to find its way to him. </div> Source
