The back-and-forth continued last week when the Heat seized back the initiative and pitched Grant to Dallas for Antawn Jamison. The Mavericks, though, have cooled considerably on the 6-foot-8 power forward, having decided that he's too small and too expensive to help them significantly in the mighty West.

The divide in Dallas these days centers around Cleveland's Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Nelson wants the 7-3 Lithuanian, who might or might not be available ... depending on the day in Cavsland. Cuban, though, is apparently reluctant, concerned about Ilgauskas' ability to play at an up-tempo pace

I dont even know what to say about this trade if it goes down, It will give us the insdie presence that we need. But not Jamiosn [IMG]

Well, looks like Josh Howard is going to make things awful difficult in the future for Jamison if he is to stay.
Personally, I would think this trade benefits the Mavs. Of course losing Jamison's scoring ability hurts, but Howard looks like the real deal - when he gets the PT, he shines.

If the Mavs can get this trade, then by all means do it. Jamison not coming off the bench anymore will hurt, but it adds so much depth to the center spot that it will be worth it.

I agree that Howard will help fill the void. The guy is amazing on the boards, and his inconsistent play will solidify with time. Reminds me of a young Mike Finley with his athleticism and hard-nosed attitude.

Now come on. Why would we trade walker and jamison. Who would we get in exchange?

Trade 1 for Z. That'd be great for the Mavs. They could also get Juwan Howard if they wanted him back. [IMG]

I love this trade. Z will give this team the rebounds they need.

Walker is in no imminent danger, Jamison though shouldn't get too comfortable in Dallas. Whether it's in a deal for Zyd or someone else, I don't think Jamison will be around too much longer. He cannot be happy about coming off the bench, he's not the type of guy that's going to complain about it, but it doesn't mean he's happy about it.

Antawn was putting up some huge numbers in the bay area, top 10 in scoring, not to mention that dual with Kobe last year for matching 50's. His talent is being wasted on the bench. Either he moves into the starting lineup at the three spot (meaning Finley would have to sit or go) or he moves on to another team.
