When you do a mock...you're suppose to do it assuming that the draft order is what it is.

    Mock seems pretty decent...

Technically, you're right. However, I figured that since the point of a mock draft was to predict how I thought the draft would actually pan out, I figured that I had might as well include all of my predictions, including trades and purchases. Thanks for the feedback, though.

I don't get why people think the Raps will draft Sean May. If Jack and Ukic are still on board, then Toronto would most likely take them.

I went with Sean May there because I'd heard rumors that the Raptors were very interested in him and were working him out a lot. If I hadn't heard that, he would be much lower.

I don't think Denver will use the second of their two picks to grab Mccants, I believe if Mccants is there with their first pick that they will grab him. Denver would then go after Jarret Jack with their second pick to field the offers for Andre Miller in the off-season. The Grizzles at 19 can very well be attracted to Wayne Simien or Rashad Mccants at 19 and probably would not sell their pick if both are still on the board IMO.

Not really, I mean you can predict a couple of trades that are likely to happen and that is what Maxballin did. The Blazers seem like that have no reason to stay at number three and a team like the Bobcats or the Hornets would love to get their hands on Chris Paul. I have nothing wrong with predicting trades in a mock draft...

I understand that you have nothing wrong with predicting trades in a mock, but you're not me. Frankly, it just doesn't make much sense because most of the rumour trades don't go through.

On top of that some trades in this mock don't really make sense. Predict a couple of trades that are likely to happen? For one, the Bobcats are unlikely to trade for the 3rd pick. If they were to trade up, it would be for the #2 pick. Numerous source have stated that they would not trade up for the #3. Plus, who are the Bobcats are going to trade? They only have 4 players under contract for next season and it really doesn't make sense for them to trade a future first rounder since they are an expansion team.

    and this...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">* The Charlotte Bobcats somehow trade Chris
Paul to the Atlanta Hawks for Marvin Williams. </div>

    ...just doesn't really make sense.

I agree with Banks on the last 2. If Charlotte was to move up to 3, they'd have to offer the Blazers more than just the 5th pick. And if New Orleans was going to drop back to 6 and trade with Utah, (a rumor I wrote in about last week) it is going to include the 27th pick aswell. However, Charlotte is VERY interested in going after the 3rd pick with the Blazers, because they will get Chris Paul, one of two guys they want bad. Only thing is the Blazers reportedly want the 5th and 13th pick and Charlotte wont give up both, because they beleive a real good impact player will be there with that pick, and yes, with only 4 players under contract, they need to stockpile.

Banks, I think that it makes perfect sense for the Bobcats to trade Paul to the Hawks. I feel that if they get their hands on Raymond Felton, as I've predicted that they will, then they would do everything in their power to grab Williams. For one, they'll have two players of the local NCAA champion UNC Tarheels. Secondly, they'll then have filled to of their big holes, point guard and small forward, with some great talent. Since Atlanta is already very interested in Paul, I don't think that it will take too much to convince them to make this trade. Throw in Bernard Robinson and, in my eyes, it's a done deal.

Kicksdaddy613, I think that, if Charlotte were to drop back to the 6th overall pick, they would ask for Kirk Snyder, and not the 27th overall pick, in return. They already have the 33rd overall pick, and I think that there's a good chance that they'll be able to grab Nate Robinson there, whom they're very interested in. Adding Snyder would give them a good, young backcourt rotation to take with them into the future.

I think that if Portland trades they won't get Green. I think if they trade with Charlotte, it's to get Danny Granger who will be very good. I am slowly falling off the Green bandwagon because of what I've heard from workouts. I hope we take Granger instead of him if they trade to 5.

Nice mock. I like the selection of Martell Webster by the Magic and it looks pretty accurate for the most part. Good job. [IMG]

I don't see any problem with doing trades - at the end of the day, a mock draft is merely predicting how you think the draft will pan out. Trades are a part of that - there's no guarantee a trade rumour will materialise, just like there's no guarantee a player will go at a particular pick.

Would have liked some more details on how the trades go though, just putting 'trade #3 for #5) and 'trade #4 for #6' makes no sense without proper explanation.
