<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As a second-year NBA veteran, Sean May technically didn't have to be here this week, going through the grind of playing five summer-league games in five days.

But after missing most of his rookie season with a knee injury, the Charlotte power forward eagerly anticipated playing in the Pepsi Pro Summer League for therapeutic reasons: Both for his knee and his mind.

"I knew I could come back and I'd be fine, but being out here playing against different people and in different situations, there's just no way to simulate live basketball games," May said.

Despite being overshadowed by rookie sensation Adam Morrison, May has been one of the summer league's most dominant players so far. He scored 16 points and pulled down five rebounds Wednesday in Charlotte's 103-87 throttling of the Orlando Magic. In his three games, May has averaged 17.7 points on 47.4 percent shooting.

May has looked thin and agile, but more impressively he has added some range to his shooting touch. He has stepped away from the low block several times for mid-range jump shots, and he even has made two 3-pointers in Charlotte's first three games.

"I've always been able to shoot and find different ways to be effective," said May, the most outstanding player of the 2005 NCAA Final Four with national champion North Carolina. "In college, I was just more effective down on the block so I didn't shoot that much. But (the outside shot) is something I'm trying to add to my game again."

Sean May has been great during Summer League, I wanted the Magic to get him instead of Fran Vasquez. One interesting stat I noticed is that May is averaging 1 three pointer a game off of 46% shooting, I don't know if that is just a one time thing or what, but that surprised me a bit.
