I put the thread here because it will be on the second page by tomorrow and the third page the day after on the Combat Sports section (because of all the WWE news).
Any predictions?

I gotta say Hatton. Partly cos he's from England, and partly because I think his style will win over Mayweather's. The problem with comparing them is that they are both dominant, never lost a bout between them.

Mayweather is gonna slap Hatton's balls around the ring, and I don't even like Mayweather. Hatton moving upin weight class, too, don't underestimate that. Another hand picked bout for Pretty Boy Floyd.

Mayweather is someone who frustrates you with his style. I don't think Hatton can outscore Mayweather because he's too quick and he doesn't mind winning ugly on points. I don't see Hatton having the handspeed to exchange with Mayweather and he's going to feel the pressure to knock Pretty Boy out as the fight gets into the later rounds and he's down 10-9 on the judging scorecards for each of the first 6 or 7 rounds.

I'll be rooting for Mayweather. It's tough to predict because all it takes os one punch that could decide the result. Although Hatton is moving up a weight class, Mayweather didn't start off as a Welterweight, he started fighting at 130lbs. I think Mayweather will do it but not by points as most people are predicting but by knock-out.
Oh and as far as Floyds image goes, people don't understand that all he's doing is playing a role. He acts the way he does to promote the fight. Without Mayweather acting the way he does, it wouldn't generate interest from the casual viewer as it has done.

I just don't see him taking the risk in this fight because Hatton could catch him and knock him out with one punch. I think Mayweather will box his fight and force Hatton to press and take chances he's not used to taking. Maybe that leads to a Mayweather knockout, but I think Mayweather takes a lot of pleasure in making boxers look stupid in the ring.

Mayweather is a great talker, but a pansy fighter. Yes, he may be great, but I can't stand him. He always talks about how he's going to pressure, and come forward...but he always runs, slips, and counters. I can't hate him for that though, as he is an AMAZING boxer.
However, I am rooting for Hatton. I hope Ricky can brawl his way inside and land some killer body shots on Mayweather and slow him down. I wouldn't put it beyond Hatton to knock Mayweather out in the mid to late rounds, especially if he can land some body shots and slow Gayweather down.

He's a bleeder (Pep fight) and Mayweather will go right after an open cut to get a stoppage to the fight.
I agree he has to work Mayweather in the body and HOPE that slows him down. I have not seen anymore execute that strategy yet because Mayweather is too quick and knows how to create defensive angles to absorb as little as possible when he gets hit.

Zab worked Mayweather pretty good until he tired, same for De La Hoya. Diego Corrales (R.I.P) worked him in a fight too, the first one...or am I thinking of JLC? Mayweather can be worked if you get to him early, nobody has had the stamina to keep it up though...if it is anyone, it'll be Hatton.

This does remind me though somewhat of Lewis vs Tua. Mayweather should be able to out-box him as long as he stays moving. If his legs get tired, boom-boom Hatton...
