McCain needs Russia to bomb the US (preferably via Alaskan airspace), or Obama to kill and eat a baby. Those are the only things that could win it for McCain at this point. barfo
Dick Morris has a different and, I must admit, novel way for McCain to win: negative advertising about socialism and Reverend Wright! http://www.nypost.com/seven/10252008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/the_truman_show_135232.htm
I disagree. McCain would win if that happened if he had say Mitt Romney on the ticket, but he decided to choose Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin would get blamed for not keeping a good eye on what Russia was doing, since she can see Russia from her house. So instead of Obama winning 60% of the vote like he has now, he will win 98% of the vote.
At first glance, I think Obama has it in the bag. And when the hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes by ACORN are added in, it's overwhelming. However, polls have been known to be off by over 10 percentage points before due to small sampling figures. There's also people who register but never vote. Anything is possible. Everyone, go vote and may the best candidate win.
That's why trusting one poll is never a good idea. When all the polls say it and have been for weeks, the chances that it is all error is statistically insignificant. Almost all the polls have "likely voter models," based on a number of factors. There is, of course, a subjective element to that, so this is hardly laser precision, but it's not likely that this point invalidates Obama's lead. Can't disagree with that.
McCain's big problem right now, is that Obama has like a 300,000+ vote lead in North Carolina right now.
If Mitt was on the ticket, they might have a shot, but not because Sarah Palin was not on the ticket. So long as the economy is the focus, McCain isn't going to win anyway. In that respect maybe Romney could have helped him.
