Brandon McCarthy finally pitched well on the road. McCarthy hadn't won away from Arizona since May 18 before putting together a dominant performance in San Francisco on Saturday night. The right-hander allowed one run and six hits in eight innings as the Diamondbacks beat the Giants 2-1. He had been 0-4 with an 11.40 ERA in his previous four road starts, but was able to throw strikes against San Francisco.
