But he is not ready to accept retirement.

"I can't do that," he said. "I don't want to do that. There's too much at stake. I'm going to let it play out. I haven't really put a time limit on it."</div>

I don't know if we should take a chance with this guy. He clearly proved last year that he was no good, even before the feet problems. He clearly played better in New Jersey, though that might be because of Jason Kidd. Here I don't see a long-term role for him, he is injury-prone, and we cannot risk that. I say trade him for someone else. Preferbaly a Theo Ratliff with another player from our squad. I don't know if we could pull that off though, but then again King is a genius.

    Your thoughts?

Thats what Im talkin about! This guy has heart! As bad as his foot is he still wants and is willing to play. Hmm, maybe that Mutumbo for VanHorn/McCulloch trade did have some talent in it.

He may have heart and desire, but no skills. I say get rid of him, he is just bad news for us, and how does he have talent?

I was gonna post this. :P

I don't think the Sixers can trade him unless he passes a physical, and that's not gonna happen. I think he should retire. His career's over.

I don't think it's over just yet. We and he himself doesn't know other possible solutions to healing his foot. You never know, he might recupirate (sp?) quite well.

Right now he is bad for the team, but in the future if he plays better, he could be of some good.

I saw him in a halftime interview last year, and he said that it's hard for him to even function as a human-being. I feel bad for the guy, but I don't think that it's fair to a team like philly (who is contantly in the rebuilding process) to have him taking up cap room (no matter how little).

Honestly, Philly has no obligation to him. He hasn't been there long enough to deserve special treatement. Then again, he has no trade value.

    It's a sad story.

He has spent most of his career in Philly. He's had two stints there with the Sixers. His problem isn't his foot it's a disorder and degeneration of his nervous system as far as I understand it. This is a guy who has heart and makes those around him better by virtue of his jovial nature. Now that light spirit is being tested in a big way. He wants to play and could contribute. If his Doctors and his Coaches say that he?s ok My vote is to put him in. I only wish that he?d been available for the Olympic qualifier as Canada might have had more of a chance to make it to Athens.
