DAMMIT I missed the dunk contest it was on at 5 huh... i wanted to see the girl win it and see whether she actually deserved it.
Hell no she won it because none of the guys could finish around the rim. It's common that most women ball players do not have the leaping ability or upper body strength to slam it hard like the guys can (different gender, thus different body types). But she had height and arm length on her side to be able to barely clear the rim for a dunk. Most of the guys competing it seemed were small 2 guards or 1's that were trying to go over the top. J.R. Smith looked really impressive though.
Michelle Snow dunk in Tennesse game was better then Parkers dunks. JR Smith touching the bottom of the backboard and dunking it from the other side was the best dunk in my IMO.
That's what I thought. BTW, there was no defense. Typical of these allstar games where everyone plays for themselves.
Yeah. I bet there were a lot of blown alley-oops and behind-the-back passes; I saw last year's game and decided not to watch this year's.
This year they had some exciting dunks and alley oops in the game. Too bad the boys couldn't bring that to the actual slam dunk contest. Instead, they let a dunker with non-existant vertical leap beat them in the dunk contest! Well actually it was partly the judges fault for grading her on a lighter standard because she's the only girl in the contest, but still her dunks were not spectacular nor impressive. It wasn't like that one white kid three years ago who bounced the ball off the floor, did a cartwheel and then took his shirt off before he caught the ball for the jam (BTW i'm not saying she should have done the same or similar dunk but same type of never seen before creativity and difficulty). The "no look dunk" she had was like cheating because she looked at the last moment. I can understand a girl wooping a boy's ass in the 3 point shooting contest or skills contest, but the slam dunk contest? If she had major hops I wouldn't complain but her wrist barely went above the rim and she was like 6'9" taking off close to the basket.
6-9, She's kinda cute though, but yeah man. She cheated like a mug, man I could miss with authority before I could dunk. Her dunks were like layups really. Oh and that guys name is David Lee. There 1 really good block by the East for defense.
Maybe she won it with the judges because she was cute. LOL. Kind of like how traffic cops let cute girls off from getting a ticket while they'll always write your dimpled ass up like you iz a punk if you happen to be a guy.
