Seems to me like it's just Detroit making an attempt to get McGrady Which I believe will end up like their attempt at Melo
Detroit says they're not interested, but Shemac says that she wouldn't mind going to Motown.....a few weeks back when the rumor originated I wasn't interested, but hell I say do it..........it's time to shake this roster up.......
I never thought I'd see the day when mainstream media outlets would be referencing Marty York. Seriously people, the newspaper this guy writes for is free and read mostly by commuters. He can't get a job on a credible newspaper in this city and he's the very definition of a hack. This rumour might be right, but it won't be because of York's reporting.
they were talking about this on espn last night. So i'm assuming its a deal that involves Prince to make rosters work?
I have heard this while watching ESPN also, so don't worry about this York guy, it seems to be legit.
PLEEEAAASSEEE DO IT DUMARS! Orlando would rape a McGrady led team. Take Billups and Prince off of Detroit and the Magic are the second best team in the East.
There's absolutely nothing to any of these rumors. Might Detroit have some interest in McGrady. Sure. Might McGrady, in some scenario, be open to playing for Detroit? Of course. That doesn't mean McGrady wants to be traded, and it doesn't mean that the Pistons and Rockets have had serious discussions over such a trade.
the fact that there has been rumors for over month makes me believe that there is something to this.....that doesn't mean it's going to happen, but rumors like this don't stick around for that long without there being any truth to back them up..................................I hope it goes down, I'm ready to get Tracy out of here.................

Media types go off that and speculate who might be available. McGrady is a favorite target for these kind of discussions (remember all the Kobe for T-Mac talks last year?). It's the offseason, there isn't much to report on, and sports writers need to make a living. So they pass speculation as news.
Jonathan Feigen weighs in on all these rumors in a blog: http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/07/another...y_rum.html#more Detroit inquired about McGrady's availability. Rockets said they're not trading him. The End.
Billups + Sheed would be pretty nice. PG: Billups/Alston/Bobby J. SG: ?? SF: Battier/Barry PF: Sheed/Scola C: Yao/Dikembe I don't know who would start at SG though, Francis? Head? Barry? Unless they went small and had Billups at SG, and Alston or Bobby Jackson start at pointguard.
I don't trust a GMs words, lol......I've heard plenty of "we're not looking to trade him" talk before......

We've been hearing trade rumors for T-Mac for years now. Credible sources were never cited. And the Rockets position that they're not looking to move him hasn't wavered one iota.
in the words of KG..............."anything is possibllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllle", lol. If the right deal came around the rockets would be interested in moving tmac....he's far from untouchable.

If the Lakers offered Kobe or the Heat offered Wade, I think the Rockets would agree to that. But, realistically, the Rockets ownership and management put more value in Tracy then what other teams are willing to offer.
