Went to the Pack game today and he just leveled a Penguin player. I'm talking Stevens-Kariya type hit. Just a thunderous hit where the opp player was crossing to center ice with his head down and over came McIlrath and destroyed him. Naturally on the next play the Pens send their goon and he's trying to chase down McIlrath but the other Ranger D kept getting in his way so no fight happened. It did seem like Big Mac was not out there looking to fight and tried to stay way from it at all possible Allen had a solid game except 1 bonehead play that resulted in a scoring chance for the Pens (who won 4-1)
McIlrath has what our defense lacks. Can he play good enough defense vs. speed? Unknown. However, because jackass Sather gave Boyle a NTC, we are stuck with him for another year unless he waives it.
