McKie, a former sixth man of the year, started the first three games before asking coach Jim O'Brien to bench him and move Willie Green to shooting guard.

McKie strained his left rotator cuff in the third quarter of Wednesday's win against New Jersey. An MRI on Thursday showed no evidence of a tear.

The 76ers also activated guards Kevin Ollie and John Salmons and placed guard Kendrick Brown (low back strain) on injured reserve.</div>

Believe it or not, this is actually the best thing that could have happen to the 76ers right now. We get a young energetic player that fits into the system and which WILL produce and we also get a real ball handler. I was one of the few that thought moving Ollie to the IL was a horrible move. He's the closest thing we have to a PG and whether or not a PG is required in O'Brien system or not a PG is really needed especially with the 76ers inability to take care of the ball.
