    Alouettes backup quarterback Adrian McPherson denied a published report claiming he recently worked out for the Cleveland Browns - a potential violation of rules, if it's true, because he remains under contract to Montreal.

    McPherson also denied he has permission from the Canadian Football League team to seek out potential employment opportunities. British Columbia running-back Martell Mallett, the league's outstanding rookie in 2009, had such an agreement from the Lions and signed during the winter with the Philadelphia Eagles.
